About Us:
The Central Library is the headquarters of both the Rochester Public Library and the Monroe County Library System. It occupies two buildings located on South Avenue in downtown Rochester; the Rundel Memorial Library Building and the newer Bausch & Lomb Public Library Building across the street.
The Central Library is home to eleven separate departments organized by subject. Its collection contains over one million books, newspapers, magazines, DVD's, and other materials searchable through the Library's on-line catalog. A staff of trained subject experts is available to assist patrons quickly and efficiently. Eighty-five state-of-the-art computer workstations, as well as an in-library wireless network, provide access to the Internet and to many electronic databases.
