About Us
The Cayce-West Columbia Branch Library, a 20,000 ft² building, was uniquely renovated from a multilevel department store by an award winning architect, Danny Shelley. Patrons are often heard reminiscing about previous shopping experiences in different departments that now house a multitude of books.
The R.H. Smith Meeting Room is named in honor of a longtime benefactor of the Lexington County Library System. The 1,000 ft² room is frequently used for special events in addition to civic organizations and writer's workshops.
The youth services department provides a variety of programs including: preschool storytimes, daycare visits, book discussion groups, toddlertimes, events for teens and a creative dramatics class.
Our adult services department also provides a variety of programs including: basic computer classes, movie showings, morning and evening bookclubs, and monthly “Lunch and Learn” sessions.
