Branch History
The Causeway Branch Library was established in response to the rapid growth in the Mandeville area. After a search for a suitable location, a vacant space in the Pontchartrain Square Shopping Center was rented and renovations began in July, 1999. A mural, created by local artist, Wallace Faucheau, depicting an English reading room was painted on one wall and is a major visual focal point in the branch. Following renovations, the 4,900 square foot branch opened on November 15, 1999. In 2004, the Library leased an adjacent storefront in order to expand the Causeway Branch. Renovations were completed in April of 2005. The branch is now approximately 7300 square feet and includes a new reading area, a meeting room, and a small study room.
