Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (CLP), founded in 1895, offers library services from 17 neighborhood library locations, the Main Library in Oakland and the Library for the Blind and Physically handicapped. CLP, a public trust and independent organization that receives no financial benefit from the Carnegie Museums, has been central to community life in all of Pittsburgh's neighborhoods.
