History:
The Cache County Bookmobile has been established in the county for 30 years, working out of fixed facilities in the old Logan Library, the old Sears Service Center, and the Bridgerland Applied Technology Center.
In the mid-1990s the cities of Providence and River Heights were exploring ways to create a public library, and the Cache County Bookmobile was looking for a new location for its headquarters and book storage. At the time, the community had no library facilities open to patrons.
The cities of Providence and River Heights decided to join the bookmobile library and renovate the former Providence City Post Office to meet their mutual needs. Residents of the cities of Providence and River Heights used donations and a large volunteer effort to complete the work, and the Cache County Providence-River Heights Branch and Bookmobile Center opened to the public in September 1996.
