The Burrell Township Library was founded in 1977. A seven-member board appointed by the Burrell Township municipality governs the library. Funding is provided by the state, the municipality, fundraisers, and donations from the community. Burrell Township residents receive free memberships; non-residents may join for a nominal fee. The library's collection of approximately 12,000 items includes fiction in both regular and large print, non-fiction, reference materials, periodicals, newspapers and audio books.
The library provides free access to computers, including the internet. Copy and fax services are available. The library has ample parking, air conditioning, and it is handicapped accessible. Free tax forms and government literature are available. The Burrell Township Library has various volunteer opportunities for community members and local college students. Children's programming includes reading programs, and story time. Adult programs include classes and speakers. Programs are added/changed upon patron request.
