About the Burkhardt Branch:
The Burkhardt Branch Library opened to the public in July, 1960. Its history is distinguished by being the first location to offer paperback books on a trial basis in 1968. They proved so popular with the public that soon all locations carried them. Today, serving residents of East Dayton, Kettering, Huber Heights and Beavercreek, the Burkhardt Branch Library enjoys the highest circulation of any of the branches located within the city of Dayton.
