Situated in the Bonita Community Park, the Bonita Springs Public Library is centrally located in the city. Families can visit the library, attend a Little league game, play tennis, enjoy the playground, recreation center or the pool all in one convenient location. One of the oldest libraries in the county, the facility was started by volunteers who operated the building until Lee County took the reins in the 1970s. The present building was enlarged to its current 12,000+ square feet in 1990. Serving a diverse socio-economic community, the library strives to satisfy the many needs of its users. Classes of students from neighboring Bonita Middle School visit on a regular basis along with the many teens, children and families who come to the library after school. Twenty-eight computers offer Internet access to library card holders and visitors. Learn about the library's Friends group of supporters.
