In the past I loved the experience of going to the library, checking out all my favorite books, but now it is scary, dirty and unkept. If I could have given no stars I would have. Not working- escalators, elevators, a lot of the bulbs out, a lot of homeless people are in library with all their bags, sitting in almost every sitting area. Just a disheartening place to be, and I thought it should be magical place for kids to get away from everything else and just read. But I will never be back, unless things change. Sad.

The Birmingham Public Library is a Great Place to research and visit. However, there have to be rules for every business to follow. If the library allows everyone in without checking bags, who was to say, everyone can bring in what ever they wanted to. I support the Birmingham Public Library, keep up the good work.
