Flooded in natural light from floor to ceiling windows that overlook the heritage oaks of Belameda Park, the Belmont Library offers tranquil space for reading, reflection and study at the same time that it invites vibrant community interaction. Neighbors reconnect while browsing through the new books of our “Marketplace.” Folks of all ages love to nestle around the fireplace of our cozy reading room or bask on our sunny patio with a good book. Our friendly staff will make you feel right at home. We were dubbed a “snug gem” by the San Francisco Chronicle, an endearment we’re proud of.

Our services and amenities, free and open to all, include:

  • an eclectic, up-to-date collection of books, magazines, books on CD, music CDs, downloadable books and music, and DVDs
  • multimedia foreign language collections including Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, and Spanish
  • daily story times for babies through preschool
  • an adjacent playground

  • weekly book discussion groups for all ages
  • weekly teen-friendly programs ranging from gaming to crafts
