Belmont Branch Library
About us:
Belmont Library has served its Southeast Portland neighborhood since 1924. Some customers remember Belmont's small brick building with its rounded windows and massive oak tables as the neighborhood library of their childhood. The original building was expanded in 1937, with the addition of a children's room. It was renovated again in 1999-2000; the project nearly doubled the library's size. Belmont houses a decorative quilt made by Sunnyside residents.
The library offers books as well as audio and visual materials, periodicals and electronic resources in English and Spanish that can be accessed on site or from a home computer. Belmont customers have access to Multnomah County Library's systemwide catalog of two million books and other library materials.
