The Ashland Public Library is a member of the Pottsville District. Today there are 17,133 cataloged items including books, videocassettes, audiocassettes, and periodicals.
Any Schuylkill County resident may obtain a borrower's card by visiting the library and showing identification with a current address. The signature of a parent or guardian is required for children under 12 years of age. We also impose a $5.00 non-resident fee for a library card.
The library also provides public access to the internet. Patrons under 18 years of age must have parental permission to access the internet. There are 8 computers available for public use, including 4 new computers, which we received through a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.
Adult and juvenile fiction, non-fiction books, and books on tape may be borrowed for two weeks. Encyclopedias may be borrowed for one week and videocassettes may be borrowed for two days. Reference books are for in library use only. We also offer fax service. You may send a fax at $2 for the first page and $1 per page after that. To receive a fax the cost is $1 per page.
