The Library invites you to participate in a new discussion program called "American Life Stories." Learn more about the American experience in contemporary memoir. Join a small book group from your community to talk about James McBride's The Color of Water: A Black Man's Tribute to His White Mother, Esmerelda Santiago's When I was Puerto Rican, Marjane Satrapi's Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood, and Frank McCourt's Tis: A Memoir, with Christine Golbeck, MFA-IA. The program is free, open to the general public, and requires no special knowledge of American literature or history. Participants will receive their own copies of the books.
